Obituary: Marie D. English

Marie D. English, 67, of Beaver Dam and formerly of Columbus passed away on Wednesday, March 09, 2016 at Select Specialty Hospital in Madison surrounded by her family.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at the Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Rev. Sandra Schieble officiating.  A visitation will also be held on Saturday, March 19th from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the funeral home.  Inurnment will take place at Hillside Cemetery in Columbus.

Marie was born the daughter of Alvin G. and Dolores B. (Glodowski) English on September 17, 1948 in Oroville, CA.  She was employed as a certified nursing aide at the Columbus Nursing Home.  Marie was a former member of Faith Lutheran Church in Columbus and most recently of First Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam.  She was a member of TOPS.  Marie also enjoyed the Beaver Dam Senior Center and participated in its Third Street Band.  Her passion was writing both poetry and music lyrics.  Marie will be remembered for her compassion to help other, her sense of humor, and her jokes.

Marie is survived by her five children: Connie (Michael) Scott of Beaver Dam, Timothy (Joelean) Gilbert of Juneau, Brenda (Bill) Flesch of Bristol, WI, Naomi (Jeremie) Schultz of Beaver Dam, and Nathan (fiancé Katie) Gilbert of Hill Point, WI; her siblings: Bonnie (Michael) Miles of Sylvania, OH, Michael (Sharon) English of Watertown, Andy (Elizabeth) English of North Carolina, Tony (Carol) English of Watertown, Margie (Pete) Litterski of Longview, TX, Julie English of Colorado, and Chuck (Jackie) English of Watertown; 16 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, her longtime companion, Ralph Masche, her sister, Barbara Sokolik, and two grandchildren: Corey and Cody Gorsuch.
