Christine Marie Stancer was born on February 21, 1952 in Beaver Dam, the daughter of John and Marie (Fox) Kulka. She attended St. Peter’s Catholic School through ninth grade and graduated from Beaver Dam High School in 1970. On July 10, 1971, she was united in marriage to Joel Stancer at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Fox Lake. She was a devoted wife and caring mother to their three children. She was a humble person who always thought of others first, especially the smallest and weakest.

While continuing to be a full time mom to her children, Christine returned to school in 1988 to receive her degree in nursing. She was a dedicated and caring nurse and gave great comfort to the elderly and disabled at Clearview and Cedar Lake for many years. She was able to empathize with others in her daily work and provided comfort with her genuine kindness. Christine believed in the saving grace of Jesus Christ, and lived her life in a way to show it.

In 2001, Christine had the unique opportunity to travel with her husband Joel to Southeast Asia and Australia. Three weeks after the 9-11 disaster, Christine traveled to France with her daughters, demonstrating her determination and tenacity. She also enjoyed traveling throughout the Southwest, visiting the Grand Canyon, Las Vegas and Arizona. For the past decade, she traveled twice a year to visit her grandchildren in Colorado.

Christine retired from nursing in 2005 and enjoyed spending the extra time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had a passion for her flower garden, as well as her three “diggity dogs”, who helped her every day.

Christine had a big heart, but not a strong one. She passed on to meet her eternal Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, March 26, 2016 in Denver, Colorado.

Christine is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Joel Stancer of Beaver Dam; her children, Jennifer (John) Szemler of Thornton, CO; Steven (Tanya) Stancer of Beaver Dam and Angela (Darrick Wimmer) Stancer of Fond du Lac; eight grandchildren, Brianna Livingston of Waupun, Elise Stancer of Waupun, Brandon Stancer of Beaver Dam, Isaiah Voskuil of Fond du Lac, Alexander and Harrison Szemler of Denver, CO, Eva Voskuil of Fond du Lac and Samuel Wimmer of Fond du Lac; three great-grandchildren; her brothers, Daniel (Barb), Walter (Ann), Edward (Caroline), Jeffrey (Anne), James (Janice), all of Beaver Dam and John (Gina) of Deerfield and further survived by many other relatives and friends.

Christine was preceded in death by her parents and her mother and father-in-law, Arnold and Charlotte Stancer.
