Obituary: Victor L. Kohls

Victor L. Kohls, 84, of township of Clyman/Oak Grove passed away on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at Meriter Hospital in Madison.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 10, 2016 at St. Peter’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Oak Grove with the Rev. Dale Hella officiating.  A visitation will also be held on Sunday from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. at the church.  Interment will be held at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Reeseville.  

Victor was born the son of William Frank and Erma (Duessler) Kohls on January 16, 1932 in Columbus, WI.  He was married to Ruth M. Filter on June 7, 1958 at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Waterloo. Victor served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War.  He was a farmer for many years and later was employed with United Cooperative until his retirement.  

Victor was a member of St. Peter’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Oak Grove.  He was an avid Packers fan and enjoyed going on gambling trips with his family and friends.  Victor also enjoyed the outdoors especially hunting.  

Victor is survived by his children: Sandy Kohls of Menomonee Falls, Connie (Kevin) Vroman of Barron, WI, and Terry (Cindy) Kohls of Juneau; his siblings: Lorraine Hacht of Columbus, Agnes (Reinhold) Zimmerman Jr. of Fox Lake, and David (Pat) Kohls of Beaver Dam; his grandchildren: Kayla and Kyle Kohls, and Jonathan, Joshua, Jeremy, and Jared (Ashley) Vroman; his great-grandchildren: Saith, Greyson, Brennen, Rylie, and Austin; and further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Ruth in 2007, his son, Dan Allen, and his siblings: LeRoy, Alvin, Grace Slade, and Hazel Kohls.
