Obituary: Alvin W. Burbach

Alvin W. Burbach, 89, of Beaver Dam passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2016 at the Charleston House Memory Care in Beaver Dam.

A memorial service for Mr. Burbach will be held on Monday, April 11, 2016 at 1:00 p.m.

at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church, 1209 W. Circle Dr., Beaver Dam with the Rev. Bryan Lagerstam officiating.  A visitation will be held prior to the service at church from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. The Beaver Dam American Legion Post #146 to meet at 12:45 p.m. to pay your respects. Inurnment will be at Randolph Cemetery.  Graveside military honors will be conducted by the Beaver Dam American Legion Post #146. 

Alvin Wallace was born on February 24, 1927 the son of Alvin and Christina (Seigma) Burbach in Randolph.  He was a 1945 graduate of Beaver Dam High School.  He served his country in the United States Navy during WWII.  On May 28, 1949, he was married to Lucille Krahn in Burnett.

Mr. Burbach had been employed by Schultz Bros. Co. in Beaver Dam for 45 years.  He managed five stores and supervised stores in five different states.  He retired as vice president of Department Family Stores.   He was later employed part time at C. C. Liquidators in Beaver Dam and at Fall River Asphalt as a sales representative.  He and his wife Lucille enjoyed spending the winter months in Yuma, AZ. 

Mr. Burbach was a faithful member of St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church- ELCA.  He was active in many areas of the church.  He was also a member of the John E. Miller American Legion Post #146 of Beaver Dam.

Alvin is survived by his wife of 67 years Lucille; his children: Audrey Burbach (Gregg Croxton) of Huntersville, NC, Karen Manke of Beaver Dam, David (Susan) Burbach of Cave Creek, AZ, and Barry Burbach of Beaver Dam; five grandchildren, six great grandchildren.  He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers: Gordon and Arthur and his sisters: Margie Koch and Dorothy Killam.
