Vilas R. Krueger, age 76, died Monday, May 23, 2016 at his home in Beaver Dam.
Visitation for Vilas will be at the Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam on Friday, May 27, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. to 10:50 a.m. Funeral services will follow at the funeral home on Friday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Seth Dorn officiating. Burial will be at Randolph Cemetery.
Vilas Raymond Krueger was born on August 1, 1939 at home in the Town of Randolph, Columbia County, Wisconsin to the late Raymond and Lucile (Bartelt) Krueger. He graduated from Beaver Dam High School in 1958. Vilas worked at Beaver Dam Specialties, which was later bought by Panex Corp, until they closed. He then went to work at Famous Footwear in Sun Prairie until he retired in 2004. Vilas was a member of St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam.
Survivors include his siblings, Delvin (Beverly) Krueger, Victoria “Vickie” (Maynard) Navis, Marlene Keel, Norbert (Ruth Ann) Krueger, Alvin (Shirley) Krueger, and Marvin Krueger; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Vilas was preceded in death by his parents; his infant sister, Violet Mae; and his brother-in-law, Gerald Keel.
