Obituary: Roger R. Martin

Roger R. Martin, age 66, of Beaver Dam, died on Thursday, July 7, 2016 at Beaver Dam Community Hospital.

The visitation will be a Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam on Monday, July 11, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. the funeral service will follow at the funeral home on Monday at 6:30 p.m. Burial will be at St. Michael Cemetery in Beaver Dam on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at 11:00 a.m.

Roger Robert Martin was born on June 12, 1950 to Robert and Esther (Lemanski) Martin in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. He attended Beaver Dam school district and was a past member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church. On October 9, 1971 he was united in marriage with Leanne Strohbusch in Beaver Dam. Roger worked for many years at Weyenberg Shoe Factory and later worked for Kirsh Foundry, retiring in 2003. Rogers’s passion was racing. He was so proud to watch his daughter compete in ice racing and looked forward to Saturday nights during the summer at the Beaver Dam Raceway. Roger anticipated each season of NASCAR and never missed the weather forecast on the nightly news.

Roger is survived by his wife, Leanne of Beaver Dam; daughter, Lisa (Bruce) Leckman of Juneau; two nieces: Martha (Earl) Schultz of Beaver Dam and Jennifer (Tom) Caldwell of Columbus; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Roberta McCamish.
