Obituary: Michael D. Wendt

Michael D. Wendt, age 71, passed away on Sunday, August 14, 2016 at Golden Living Center in Beaver Dam.

Michael was born on February 2, 1945 in Beaver Dam, the son of Roland and Ruth (Milton) Wendt. He was a 1963 graduate of Beaver Dam High School. Throughout his working years, he worked as a sheriff deputy for Dodge County, several jobs at John Deere in Horicon, and also bought and flipped homes around the area. In his free time, Michael enjoyed hunting, especially deer hunting, and grilling out, as well as coaching youth baseball and riding motorcycles in his earlier years. Michael was an awesome father; he cherished his family and loved spending time with them.

Michael is survived by his children, Tim Wendt of Mooresville, NC, Brenda (Jerel) Plummer of Fall River, Katherine Wendt of Beaver Dam, Michelle (Rick Rivera) Wendt of Beaver Dam; his grandchildren, Candice, Kevin, Victoria, Trevor, Loggan and Alec; his great-grandchildren, Chloe, Mariah, Chase, Tristin and Adrian; his sister, Mary (Curt) Lincks of AZ and other relatives and friends.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Keith Wendt, and his sister Elaine Wendt.

A memorial gathering for Michael will be held on Friday, August 19, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 1:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd., Beaver Dam. Chaplain Dennis Richards will officiate. Inurnment will take place at Oakwood Cemetery, Beaver Dam and a luncheon will be served back at Cornerstone.
