Obituary: John W. Hendrix

John W. Hendrix, Jr., age 55, died Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at his home in Beaver Dam.

Visitation for Johnny will be at the Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam on Sunday, September 4, 2016 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:20 p.m.  Funeral services will follow at the funeral home on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor James Derber officiating.

John William Hendrix, Jr. was born on November 7, 1960 in Moline, Illinois, the daughter of Dorothy “Dotty” Lindert and John W. Hendrix, Sr.  He graduated from Cedar Hill High School in Texas in 1978.  He worked as a journeyman electrician for several years. A kind and gentle man, Johnny was outgoing, loved to meet people, and would do anything for anyone.  His family and his faith was the most important thing in John’s life.  He loved to go for walks with his mother and he cherished the time he spent with his nieces and nephews.  He enjoyed spending time with his church family at Pentecostal New Life Church.  John also loved his pets, especially his potbellied pig, Oakey.  He enjoyed fishing and camping and was an avid motorcycle rider when he was younger. 

John is survived by his mother, Dotty Lindert of Beaver Dam; his father, John Hendrix, Sr of Iowa; six siblings, Bob (Sandy) Hendrix of Minnesota, Betsy (Todd) Frederes of Iowa, Kevin Hendrix of Texas, Mary Alice Hendrix of Marshall, Jennifer “Jai” (Kip) Westgard of Iowa, and Chuck (Jamie) Hendrix of Beaver Dam; 14 nieces and nephews, Kendall Hendrix, Kierstyn Hendrix, Sam Frederes, Jason Hendrix, Dena DeMoss, Eva Hendrix, Eric Hendrix, Bo Penman, Lance Drewry, Dirk Ebbs, Joshua Hendrix, Nathan Hendrix, Benjamin Hendrix, and Matthew Hendrix; other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his infant sister, Elizabeth Reeves.
