Duane “Shorty” Mulvaney

Duane “Shorty” Mulvaney, age 84, of Reeseville, passed away on Monday, September 12, 2016 at Watertown Regional Medical Center surrounded by his family.

There will be a memorial gathering at Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Reeseville on Saturday, September 17, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. to 10:50 a.m.  Funeral services will follow at the funeral home on Saturday beginning at 11:00 a.m. with Lay Minister Terri Wolff officiating.  Inurnment will be at Reeseville Cemetery with military honors provided by Lowell VFW Post #9392.

Duane was born on March 24, 1932 in the Town of Lowell, the son of Charles and Viola “Ollie” (Nee: Ladwig) Mulvaney.  He served as a paratrooper in the US Army during the Korean War.  On July 14, 1967, he was united in marriage with Delaine “Mickey” Hintermeyer in Baton Rouge, LA where they made their home for over 30 years.  They returned to the Reeseville area to be closer to family after they retired.  Duane worked as a foreman in the industrial painting business for several companies in Baton Rouge.  He enjoyed rebuilding cars as a hobby in retirement.

Duane is survived by his wife of 49 years, Delaine “Mickey” Mulvaney of Reeseville; his children, Randy (Carri) Mulvaney of Watertown and Debbie (Dale) Neuberger of Reeseville; three grandchildren, Travis (Katie) Neuberger of Horicon, GeNelle (fiancé John Petrie) of Burnett, and Connor Mulvaney of Watertown; three great granddaughters, Landri, Finley, and Acelynn Neuberger; one sister, Joan Peck of Friendship; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Darlene and Marion Mulvaney; two brothers, Donald and Wilbert “Curly” Mulvaney; an infant great granddaughter, Reagon Neuberger.

If desried, memorial may be made in Duane Mulvaney’s name to Salem Lutheran Church in Lowell or Watertown Moravian Church.
