Obituary: Rosemarie Anna Klossner

Rosemarie Anna Klossner, age 91, passed away on Oct. 13, 2016, in Honolulu, Hawaii.  She was born on April 23, 1925, in Zilly and grew up in Halberstadt, Germany.  The daughter of Emil and Hedwig (Hartmann) Schmidt, Rosemarie was a graduate of the Lyceum School for Girls and attended the University of Erlangen in Bavaria.

She was an interpreter in Nuremberg at the International Military Tribunal Press Camp, where she met Sgt. Maj Earl A. Klossner, U.S. Army, her future husband of 64 years.  They were married at the Military Post Chapel in Furth, Germany, and lived in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, for all of their married life.  Rosemarie was employed at Beaver Dam Community Hospitals for 13 years and was actively involved with community events and the local Girl Scouts.  She traveled abroad with her husband and children, spent many winters in Hawaii, Phoenix, Arizona, and Marco Island, Florida, and enjoyed her final years in Connecticut and Hawaii.

Mrs. Klossner was a loving, devoted mother and will be sadly missed.  Surviving are her five children:  Gwendolin (Brian) Folmer of La Quinta, CA; Jeffrey (Teresa) Klossner of Salida, CO; Eva-Marie (Howard) Chandler of Big Lake, AK; Claudia Klossner of San Francisco, CA; and Earl (Tressa) Klossner, Jr., of Carlsbad, CA;  her grandchildren: Clifton Folmer of San Mateo, CA, Chelsea Pridemore of Salida, CO, Cameron Folmer of Seattle, WA, 1st LT Carl Chandler, USAF, of San Antonio, TX, Rosemarie Chandler of New York City, NY and M/C Thomas Chandler of Big Lake, AK and her great-grandchildren: Casen, Cory and Chance Pridemore.  

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and brother.

A visitation for Rosemarie will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at the Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home, N7199 N. Crystal Lake Rd., in Beaver Dam beginning at 10:30 a.m.  The funeral will follow at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Mark Jensen officiating.  Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Beaver Dam.
