Obituary: Marilyn M. Loeck

Marilyn M. Loeck, age 77 of Beaver Dam, passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at UW-Hospital in Madison surrounded by family and friends.

Marilyn was born on October 9, 1939 in Beaver Dam, the daughter of Howard and Irmgard (Kemnitz) Hafenstein. She attended Beaver Dam High School and was a self-employed cleaning lady for 38 years. She was also a dish washer at various places. Marilyn was united in marriage to Carlton Loeck on October 25, 1958 at First Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam, where she was a lifelong member and sang in the choir since eighth grade. Her hobbies included gardening, doing yard work, sewing, looking at photography and attending concerts with her son Rich. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and enjoyed being a spectator at their sporting events.  

Marilyn is survived by her children, Rich (Vironica Clayton) Loeck and Sue Longfield, both of Beaver Dam; her grandchildren, Teresa (Jamie) Wolff of Beaver Dam, Dusty (Libbie) Longfield of Winona, MN and Amanda (significant other, Josh) Longfield of Waupun; great-grandchildren, Cole, Briana, Kaylie, Lillie and Ellie; sister, Iris (Gary) Kehrmeyer of Waupun; nephew, Christopher (Jill) Kehrmeyer; niece, Jessica Dumke; 1 great-niece; 2 great-nephews; other relatives and friends.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her brother, Ira Hafenstein; son-in-law, Dave Longfield and other relatives.

Visitation for Marilyn will be on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 from 5-7 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Service, 135 Keller Blvd. Beaver Dam and will also be held on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. (noon) at First Ev. Lutheran Church, 311 W. Mackie Street, Beaver Dam. In a true tribute to Marilyn, her funeral will start 10 minutes late at 12:10 p.m. with Rev. Mark Jensen officiating. Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery, Beaver Dam with a luncheon to follow back at church.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hillside Home Care, Beaver Dam Hospital Advanced Wound Center and the staff at UW-Hospital Cardiac Unit for the loving care they provided to Marilyn. Also a special thank you to her friends and family at First Ev. Lutheran Church for always being there for Marilyn.
