Obituary: Dorothy E. Bowman

Dorothy E. Bowman, 88, of Beaver Dam, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 4, 2016 at the Hillside Manor Nursing Home.

Visitation for Dorothy will be at Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 from 10:00 AM to 10:50 AM.  Funeral services will follow at the funeral home on Tuesday beginning at 11:00 AM with Pastor Jason Wood officiating.  Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Beaver Dam.

Dorothy was born the daughter of Henry and Lula (Bogue) Fehler on August 4, 1928 in Rockford, IL. She was a 1946 graduate of Rockford High School in Rockford, IL. On October 16, 1947 Dorothy was united in marriage with Jack Bowman. In 1965 Jack and Dorothy moved to Beaver Dam. She was a part-time worker, and a full-time mother. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, and crafts. She helped design and sew costumes for the Beaver Dam Community Theatre. Dorothy loved to travel; she would go out to Nevada, the Dakota’s, and traveled overseas. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her children; Joe Bowman, of Orlando, FL, Dirk Bowman, of Beaver Dam, David (Linda) Bowman, of Beaver Dam, Jill (Todd) Kempf, of Mount Carroll, IL; 11 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brothers; Wayne and Don Fehler, and her in-laws; Earl and Frances Bowman

The family would like to thank Hillside Manor, and staff for the wonderful comfort and care given to their mother in the end.
