Obituary: Robert A. “Peach” Ganske

Robert A. “Peach” Ganske, 79, of Beaver Dam passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2016 at his home.

Robert was born the son of Dern and Vivian (Wegner) Ganske on October 31, 1937 in Beaver Dam. He was a graduate of Beaver Dam High School. Bob was married to Charleen A. Franke on November 22, 1958 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Beaver Dam. Bob was employed as a plumber throughout his career and was a member of the Fox River Valley Local #400 Plumbers and Steamfitters.  

Bob was a member of St. Katharine Drexel Parish in Beaver Dam. He was considered a delightful Democrat.  Bob enjoyed softball, bowling, and golf and was a longtime member of the Beaver Dam County Club.  Bob will be remembered as a very social person and friend to many.  

Bob is survived by his children: Robert D. (Becky Pavloski) Ganske of Columbus, Barry (Jennifer) Ganske of Cedarburg, and Gerald (Susan) Ganske of Fond du Lac; his grandchildren: Leah, Abraham, Contessa, Dustin, and Dana Ganske; his step-grandchildren: Jami (Mike Hanneman) Powers, Lisa (Jeremy) Christian, and Mike (Kate) Powers, Paula Powers; his great-granddaughter, Skylar; his step great-grandchildren: Brittany, Katlin, Kyle, Aleah, Hailey, Farron, Stella, Brianna, and Grant; his friend, Lu Scheer of Waupun; his nephew, Trevor Ganske; and further survived by other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his step-mother, Florence Ganske, his wife, Charleen; his brother, William, his step-grandchildren: Richard L. Powers and Kathleen Lenore Powers.

A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2016 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church in Beaver Dam.  The Rev. Mike Erwin will officiate.  Inurnment will take place at St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery, Beaver Dam, WI.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, and Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America.
