The Beaver Dam Chamber of Commerce will again host Beaver Dam Mayor Tom Kennedy, who continues a 13 year tradition of officially “lighting” a tree on the Chamber property designated as the downtown Christmas Tree.

The current tree, a Serbian Spruce located on the south side of the Old Depot property, replaced the 60 foot Blue Spruce several years ago that held the title of downtown Christmas Tree for 4 decades.

The Tree Lighting will happen at 5:15 pm at the Old Depot, 127 S. Spring Street, in downtown Beaver Dam, immediately prior to the Holiday Parade.  The Chamber will be celebrating its annual Holiday Open House from Noon until 5:00 pm with free hot cocoa, hot cider and cookies.  Also, for stamp collectors, the Chamber will be featuring a First Day Cancellation celebrating the city’s 175th anniversary with a special commemorative envelope, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the Old Depot.

The Chamber wishes the community a Merry Christmas and invites the community to come and Shop Small and Shop Beaver Dam 1st!, this holiday season with the Ring in the Holidays Passport Contest, through December 24, 2016.
