Mark Pagett, WDA Executive Director presents Stacy Nehmer, Clinical Services Manager of Church Health Services,(CHS),with a Community Outreach Award for the organization's work to reduce the access gap in both restorative and preventative dental services for low-income patients. Until CHS, a United Way Agency, opened a dental clinic in 2014, Medical Assistance (MA) patients in the area (estimated 14,500 MA patients in Dodge County) had little to no access to dental care.
CHS strives to be a dental home for those individuals with no options for oral health care and provides comprehensive dental care to low-income adults, veterans and seniors.
CHS, a provider of primary, mental, and dental health care relies on funding from private donors and grants to support the dental services provided. Through generous support from the WDA, Wal-Mart Foundation, Agnesian Healthcare, Delta Dental Association, Henry Schein Cares Global Product Donation Program, Green Bay Packer Foundation, Beaver Dam Community Hospital Foundation, and individual contributions, they have been able to outfit and supply four complete dental suites. The dental clinic offers basic dental and hygiene services.
