Obituary: David C. Roedl

David C. Roedl, age 81, passed away on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at Clearview Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Juneau.

David was born on December 26, 1934 in Beaver Dam, the son of Carl H. and Evelyn (Radtke) Roedl. He graduated from Beaver Dam High School (Class of 1953), attended Ripon College, UW-Madison and graduated from Arizona State University. David proudly owned and operated Park Interiors. He enjoyed decorating, interior home designing and was a gifted artist, primarily ceramics and oil paintings. He loved spending time with his family and friends and had a natural knack of making people laugh. He had a profound appreciation for nature, especially many of the pristine National Parks.

David is survived by his brother, Douglas “Jim” (Dorothy) Roedl of Beaver Dam; his half-sisters, Beth (Scott) Shully of Mequon, WI, Michelle Hunt of Lakeland, FL and Amy (James Jr.) Dodge of Bayside, WI; nieces and nephews, Mark (Jeanne) Roedl of Beaver Dam, Susan (Tony) Tomashek of Onalaska, WI, Mary (“J.P.”) Boustany of Chicago, IL and Tim Schwister of Mount Prospect, IL; and further survived by additional nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

David was preceded in death by his parents; his step-mother M. Ilene (Harvey) Roedl; his niece, Kay (Roedl) Schwister and other relatives.

A memorial gathering for David will be held on Monday, December 26, 2016 at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd., Beaver Dam from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Jeff Nicholas will officiate and inurnment will take place at Oakwood Cemetery at a later date.

If desired, memorials may be directed to the Dodge County Humane Society.
