Obituary: Ethel V. Pilsner

Ethel V. Pilsner, 86, of Mayville passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Hillside Manor. 

Funeral Services for Ethel will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at St. John Lutheran Church in Mayville with the Rev. Allen Kramp officiating.  A visitation will be held prior from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the church.  Burial will follow at St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Mayville.

Ethel was born on July 19, 1930, the daughter of Arthur and Alvina (Bleck) Kummerow in the town of Herman, WI.  On October 18, 1952, she was married to Roland F. Pilsner at St. John Lutheran Church in Mayville.  

She was a faithful member of St. John Lutheran Church in Mayville, where she had belonged to the Altar Guild.  Ethel retired from TAB Products of Mayville.  She enjoyed completing puzzles and crossword puzzles.  She liked gardening and feeding and watching the birds.

Ethel is survived by her daughter Debra Welak of Beaver Dam and her son Stan (Lou Ann) Pilsner of Mayville; five grandchildren: Jennifer (Mitchell) Matuszeski, Heather (Blake) TonnII, Ashley (Becki Herbst) Welak, Nicholas Pilsner and Mitchel Pilsner; three great grandchildren: Molly, Blake III and Jaxon.  She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Roland in 2002, sisters: Paula Steger, Elfriedia Machmueller and Gertrude Kummerow; brothers: Elmer Kummerow and Herbert Kummerow.

Memorial donations in Ethel’s name may be directed to St. John Lutheran Church in Mayville.

Ethel’s family wishes to thank the staff of the Remembrance Home and Hillside Manor for their kind and compassionate care of their Mother for the past five years.  Your kindness will always be remembered.
