Obituary: F. George Marquez

F. George Marquez, age 64, of Beaver Dam, died unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, January 8, 2017.

Visitation for George will be at the Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam on Friday, January 13, 2017 from 10:00 a.m to 11:50 a.m.  Funeral services will follow at the funeral home on Friday beginning at 12:00 noon.  Rev. Mark Jensen will officiate.  Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens.

Franklin George Marquez was born on January 4, 1953 in Elkhorn, Wisconsin to the late Jose and Margarita (Linarez) Marquez.  George worked for John Deere Horicon Works for many years before retiring about 5 years ago.  He had a good sense of humor and loved to pull pranks; he was the family joker.  George liked sports and was an avid Badger and Packer fan. 

Survivors include his son, Nick (Carol) Marquez of Waupun; two step grandchildren; a step great granddaughter; sisters and brother, Tomasita Martinez of Beaver Dam, Mary (Juan) Sanchez of Berlin, Daniel Marquez of Elmendorf, TX, Rachel Marquez of Beaver Dam and Gloria (Antonio) Carbajal of Mayville; his former wife, Georgine Sumnicht of Beaver Dam; other relatives and friends. George was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Jeffrey and Casey Marquez; two sisters, Irene Cruz and Biolanda Marquez; anda brother, Joseph V. Marquez.
