The Second Annual Global Fair will take place on Saturday, February 18th at the Lindsay Gym on the campus of Wayland Academy.

Three partners, including the Beaver Dam Community Library, Moraine Park Technical College and Wayland Academy, are working toward creating a multi-cultural event with the theme “Build a Better World.”  The event is from 1 to 4 pm with dozens of student and community booths.  This year’s lineup of entertainment includes the Zhong Yi Kung Fu Lion Dancers, the Milwaukee Scottish Country Dancers, and St. Katharine Drexel Dancers, a returning group that wowed the community last year. The event is free and open to the public. Vendor booths are free and there is still limited space for additional community members.  Many international students will be offering information about their culture and heritage, along with free samples of culinary tastes from around the world. Community vendor booths are also showcased and can range from individual families of distinct cultural heritage, countries an individual has traveled to see, or service organizations involved in worldwide businesses or charity. Some of the countries/nationalities represented already include Cajun French, Native American, Jewish, Bahamas, Afghanistan, Vietnam, Angola, Turkey, Mexico, Palestine,  Russia, Serbia, Africa, Hungary, India, Pakistan, Germany and many others.

The event is sponsored by Discover Dodge Tourism that will also be hosting a table distributing information about events and sites in the county.  For more information or vendor booth space, contact Karla Jensen, Director of Auxiliary Programs and Outreach at Wayland Academy, at (920) 356-2120 ext. 236 (email kjensen@wayland.org) or pick up vendor registrations from Anita Streich at the Beaver Dam Community Library (email astreich@mwfls.org)
