Motor Vehicle Crash – Updated: Names Released

Updated Information:  On 01-28-2017 at 3:24am, the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office responded to a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of CTH A and CTH W in the Township of Oak Grove, Dodge County, Wisconsin.

Preliminary investigation showed that John W. Petri (24 years old from Horicon, WI) was operating a 1996Toyota sedan East on CTH W.   Daniel Bouchette (57 years old from Watertown, WI) was driving a 2009 Kenworth semi tractor pulling an empty fuel tank trailer North on CTH A. The Toyota failed to stop for the stop sign, striking the rear wheels of the semi. John and his passenger Jacob J. Steiner (24 years old from Juneau) suffered serious but non-life threating injuries in the crash. Daniel was not injured and there were no other occupants in either vehicle. 

John was transported to Beaver Dam Hospital and later transferred to UW-hospital Madison for his injuries.  Jacob was transported to Oconomowoc Hospital. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash. 

CTH A was closed for more than 4 hours while the crash was being investigated and the scene cleared.

Assisting at the scene was:  Juneau Fire Department and Juneau EMS, Beaver Dam EMS, Wisconsin State Patrol, and the Dodge County Highway Department.

The crash remains under investigation by the Dodge County Crash Investigation Team.  Please contact Sheriff Dale Schmidt for further information.
