Beverages from around the world accompanied by fine food and music highlight this year’s edition of EAA’s popular “Hops & Props” tasting fundraiser on Saturday, March 4, from 7-10 p.m. at the EAA AirVenture Museum in Oshkosh. This is one of Wisconsin’s premier events for beer connoisseurs. Proceeds support EAA’s education programs.

More than 300 extraordinary beverages are available from micro-breweries and distributors from around the world, along with food stations, coffees and desserts. This year’s enhanced food offerings include hot and cold hors d’oeuvres, street tacos, sweets, and the always-popular carving station, all supplied by The Machine Shed in Appleton, Wisconsin. Hops & Props tickets include entrance to the museum, a professionally prepared tasting guide, a commemorative tasting glass, food, and live music throughout the evening.

“Hops & Props has become an extremely popular event for attendees and the food and drink exhibitors alike, with the fun festivities all supporting EAA’s efforts to supply free community programs through the year,” said Bob Campbell, EAA AirVenture Museum director. “EAA can reach more people in the Fox Valley with museum programs and activities through the support of those who join us on this one-of-a-kind evening. It is definitely a fun evening with a greater purpose.”

Hops & Props offers an opportunity to meet master brewers and understand the distinguishing characteristics of ales, lagers, and hybrid or mixed styles of beers. Attendees can learn about the brewing process and history, and become a discerning beverage taster.

In addition, the VIP Beer Dinner offers an in-depth, more intimate food and drink sampling experience. This added gala begins at 4:30 p.m. with dinner starting at 5 p.m., and includes a five-course gourmet meal with unique beer pairings that are not served as part of the general admission event. Tickets to VIP Beer Dinner also include early admission to the general event after the dinner concludes. This year’s event is hosted by Left Hand Brewing Company of Longmont, Colorado, and Becket’s Restaurant of Oshkosh.

Hops & Props general admission tickets are $75 each ($65 for EAA members) in advance. Limited tickets remain for the VIP Beer Dinner experience at $125 each ($115 for EAA members). Tickets can be purchased through EAA’s secure website. Attendees must be 21 or older. Tickets purchased at the door on the day of the event (if available) are an additional $10 each.

The presenting sponsor for EAA’s Hops & Props is Festival Foods, with Arena Americas serving as platinum sponsor. Additional sponsors include Cumulus Broadcasting, Jones Outdoor, Oshkosh Media, Spectrum Media Sales, WFRV-TV 5, and USA TODAY Network Wisconsin.
