Community is invited to the Free 2nd Annual Global Fair

The community is invited to the Free 2nd Annual Global Fair this Saturday from 1-4 pm at Wayland Academy, 101 N. Spring Street, in Beaver Dam.  The event, held in Lindsay Gym, will include entertainment all afternoon and over fifty ethnic and globally diverse booths. With Wayland Academy’s global diversity, students from around the world will be hosting cultural and heritage displays and demonstrations along with regional community organizational booths.Guests are invited to stop at the welcome table first to receive a global fair passport. Stickers will be given on the passport for each booth visited. Completed passports will be entered for door prize drawings.  Entertainment includes various cultural dance groups, a Tibetan Singing Bowl demonstration, and several opportunities throughout the afternoon to experience a guided meditation in the Lindsay Complex Dance Studio with Wayland instructor Beth Ratajczak at 2:10, 3:10 and 3:45 pm.  Many booths offer free information and complimentary food and fare samples from around the world. The event is sponsored by Discover Dodge Tourism, Wayland Academy, The Beaver Dam Community Library and Moraine Park Technical College.  For more information please contact Anita Streich at the Beaver Dam Library at (920) 219-4400 or email astreich@mwfls.org
