Feed the Dog “Vertigo” LIVE at The Cabooze Skyline Sounds Rough Isaac – Jones Island Madpolecats – “Redemption Song”

Bringing 4 of the best emerging bands from around the state for a night that highlights Wisconsin artists, the Jersey Street Music Festival continues to build its reputation as a musical event that brings the very best in regional and national talent.  Skyline Sounds from Madison will be performing along with Oshkosh’s Feed The Dog, Milwaukee’s Rough Isaac and Dodge County’s own Madpolecats, who are returning for their second festival performance.

The festival opens on Thursday, June 15 with a selection of bands curated by JSMF co-managers Dan Buchner and Alyssa Simpson.  Simpson has specific qualities in artists that she selects for the festival.  “ I fell for Skyline Sounds after watching their Faced to Face me video. It proved that they have a quirky delightfulness about them while still having strong lyrics that hold up in a serious setting. Their sound cannot be defined in a single genre and is nothing like I’d ever heard before with the added bonus of a strong female lead.  Rough Isaac is a very young, undeveloped band with barely 300 likes on facebook. Yet, the sound they produce is so well calculated and you can tell every single accent and sound is well thought out/planned. Their live show is fantastic and has the finesse of a band much older and experienced.”

The Jersey Street Music Festival artist selection team brings the same level of scrutiny to every performer that they sign to the event, which has been one reason for the phenomenal growth of the fest.

Feed The Dog has a sound you will have trouble describing, but not want to stop listening to. Lead by the Songwriting of Ellis M. Brown, the band features masterfully crafted fiddle, Kottkelike finger pickin’ acoustic six and twelve string guitar, funky bass lines, and percussive soul. Working the WI circuit like seasons professionals, Feed The Dog is quickly becoming one of Wisconsin’s most sought-after bands. ??https://ocoochmountainmusic.com/feed-the-dog/

Skyline Sounds formed in January of 2015 when their lead singer quit one type of music to play another, and two old friends/band mates got back together and a Craigslist fate came to be. They look to create music that is meaningful, well thought-out, and could be listened to and interpreted in many ways – on the surface or delved into for different meanings. Skyline Sounds has had the opportunity to play Summerfest and many other beautiful shows around Wisconsin and has also consistently been ranked among the top 5 in the alternative charts for Madison. ???https://skylinesounds.bandcamp.com

Rough Isaac is an indie folk-rock band in Milwaukee with a classical twist and complex harmonies. The music is primarily written by Justin Scherbarth, and accompanied by Jason Sievert, Jon Wayne, and Joshua T. Foley. Each song is a confluence of various time signatures and keys, and abrupt changes in direction, that maintains engaging melodies and pop hooks.  The band has played opening and headlining spots around the city, from full electric shows to intimate acoustic sets. ???https://www.roughisaac.com

Madpolecats unique form of entertainment was developed by fusing together traditional bluegrass instruments with reggae/ska/punk influences, making rastabilly music or, skunkgrass. This family band has an arsenal of instruments, and is made of musicians who have played together at roadhouse bars, churches, music festivals, concert halls, fund raising events, benefits, weddings, wakes, and some of the best street corners in Wisconsin. ???https://www.reverbnation.com/themadpolecats

Together, these four bands bring the very best in new Wisconsin music to the area’s best music festival – Horicon’s Jersey Street music Festival.  Thursday, June 15 through Saturday, June 17 in Discher Park, Horicon.
