Mildred “Millie” A. Beier

Mildred “Millie” A. Beier, age 85, of Beaver Dam, died on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at Charleston House.

The visitation will be at St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam on Sunday, March 5, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. The funeral service will follow at the church on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Seth Dorn officiating. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens.

Mildred Anna Grulke was born on January 14, 1932 to Frank and Ella (Hemling) Grulke in the Township of Ashippun, Dodge County, Wisconsin. On August 19, 1950, she was united in marriage with Winfred “Winnie” Beier at St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam. Through all 51 years of their marriage, they worked side by side on their farm just east of Beaver Dam. They loved Polka dancing with friends at the area dances or the weekend Polka festivals. Millie was the Beaver Dam Towns Treasurer for a number of years and was involved on a state level with the Wisconsin Town Association. She loved her family and she loved Beaver Dam and was often referred to as the historian for both. Millie was a faithful member of St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran church where she proudly served as President of the Ladies Aid for a number of years.

Millie is survived by her two daughters, Donna (Jerry) Hankes of Beaver Dam, and Deb (John) Wolter of Juneau; grandchildren; Matt (Leigh Ann) Hankes, Scott (Clair) Hankes, and Jesse (Emily) Hankes, Tony (Amy) Wolter, Candice (Donny) Manke, Ben Wolter (Roz Ninmann), Kyle (Jenny) Wolter, and Kayla (Jason) Behring; four step grandchildren Andy Wolter, Kim (Wayne) Wolff, Renee (Jim) Metzner, and Mike (Margaret) Wolter; 12 great grandchildren: eight step great grandchildren; brother, Herbert (Joyce) Grulke of Green Bay; sister, Esther Werth of Beaver Dam; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Sheryl Beier; sister-in-law, Janice Grulke; brother-in-law, Marcus Werth; and a great granddaughter, Eleanor Hankes.
