Ethel A. “Sunshine” Fehling, age 82, of Reeseville, passed away on Friday, March 24, 2017 at Clearview Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Juneau surrounded by family.
Visitation for Ethel will be at Salem Ev. Lutheran Church in Lowell on Sunday, April 2, 2017 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. On Monday, April 3, 2017, visitation will also be at church from 10:00 a.m. to 10:50 a.m. Funeral services will follow at church on Monday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Paul Vander Galien officiating. Burial will be at Lowell Cemetery.
Ethel Ann Cowles was born on December 25, 1934 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Alton J. and Grace A. (DeSchaaf) Cowles. She graduated from Beaver Dam High School in 1953. Ethel met Henry Fehling at a dance at the Reeseville Pavilion and they fell in love; on August 27, 1955, they were united in marriage at Salem Ev. Lutheran Church in Lowell. They were blessed with 62 years of a loving marriage and five children. Ethel was a creative woman and enjoyed working with her hands. She enjoyed oil painting, photo restoration and finishing, quilting and sewing, ceramics, crocheting; and other forms of arts and crafts. She also enjoyed reading and her card club. Ethel was a member of Salem Ev. Lutheran Church and the Lowell/Reeseville Lioness Club.
Ethel is survived by her husband, Henry “Hank” Fehling of Reeseville; four children, Vicki L. (Brian) Miller of Reeseville, Cheryl Goodrich of Reeseville, Julie (Jon) Eckert of Hartland, and Dan Fehling of Hancock; five grandchildren, Abbey (Deven) Reddemann, and their daughter Amelia of Texas, Josh and Luke Eckert of Hartland, and Karissa and Tyler Fehling of Lowell; a niece and a nephew from California; other relatives and friends. Ethel was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son; a sister, Arlene Rudden; and a son-in-law, Jeffrey Schmidt.
