Obituary: Douglas J. Lauersdorf

Douglas J. Lauersdorf, age 67 of Burnett, passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital in Madison.

Douglas was born on June 26, 1949 in Hustisford, the son of Charles and Marian (Wilson) Lauersdorf. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. On February 24, 1973, he was united in marriage to Patricia Poetter at St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam. Douglas worked for Kaul Refrigeration for many years. He was a member of the Lowell VFW Post 9392, a district elder for St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church and an avid hunter. 

Douglas will be dearly missed by his wife, Patricia of Burnett; his daughters, Aimee (Scott) Smith and Alyssa (fiancé Travis Bowe) Lauersdorf, both of Burnett; his granddaughter, Makayla Smith of Burnett; his sister-in-law, Pat Lauersdorf of Lowell and Lois Masche of Beaver Dam; his uncle, Alton (Marjorie) Lauersdorf of Lowell and further survived by cousins, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his in-laws, Roland and Hilda Poetter; his brother, Ronald; his brother-in-law, Edward Masche; nephew, Matthew Masche and other relatives.

Private family services were held. Burial was at Lowell Cemetery.
