Here's Bernie Beaver celebrating National Welding Month. Welding is a process that joins metals, glass, or plastics by fusing them together, either by heat, pressure, or both heat and pressure. For centuries, forge welding was a blacksmithing technique that fused iron objects by heating and hammering. However, in the late 1800's electricity (arc welding) and gas (oxy acetylene, etc) began replacing the hammer and anvil. Even today, welding evolves, as traditional arc and gas welding give way to spot welding, laser beam, and electron beam welding.
Here are a few welding quotes:
"Every woman should have a blowtorch." ---Julia Child
"Life is made of ever so many partings welded together." ---Charles Dickens
"Welding always gives me a sense of togetherness." ---Bernie Beaver
Alabama Welder -- advertising that he can weld anything from the "crack of dawn" to "broken hearts." If you listen carefully, I think he might actually be speaking some of the words in English.
