Obituary: Michael W. Miller

After a very long, courageous battle with cancer, Michael W. Miller, age 61 of Beaver Dam, died peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones on Sunday, May 21, 2017.

Michael was born in Beaver Dam on January 21, 1956 to Mary Margaret and Fred Miller. He attended Beaver Dam schools, followed by UW-Whitewater, where he played college basketball and baseball while earning his degree in business. The next 35 years, Michael owned and operated Miller’s 76 and Miller’s 24-Hour Towing. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and he also loved to race stockcars. Another passion in his life was coaching Little League baseball in Randolph. His greatest joy and love in his life was his son, Matthew. He was a great dad.

Michael is survived by his wife, Pam and son, Matthew of Beaver Dam; brother, Fred (Laura) Miller; sister, Mary Liz (Scott) Dawes; mother and father-in-law, Janet (Gary) Buzzell; step-dad, Jim Butterbrodt; brother-in-law, Brian (Denise) Buzzell; sister-in-law, Kim (Daryl) Winter and further survived by nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and nephew, Conner Dawes.

A memorial gathering for Michael will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Randolph United Methodist Church, 227 N. High St., Randolph from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Pam Harkema officiating.
