Obituary: Arden “Butch” J. Neuman

Arden “Butch” J. Neuman, age 93, of Fall River, died on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at Meadows of Fall River.

The visitation will be at Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam on Monday, July 31, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. There will be a rosary service, following the visitation, at 7:00 p.m. There will also be a visitation at Annunciation Catholic Church in Fox Lake on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until 10:50 a.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at the church at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. John J. Radetski officiating. Burial will be at Annunciation Cemetery; Lost Lake.

Arden Joseph Neuman was born on September 9, 1923 to John and Goldie (Sommerfield) Neuman. He farmed throughout his life in the Lost Lake area and was the mobile butcher for 40 years. Butch was united in marriage with Eva Mae Sauer on July 20, 1948. He was a long-time member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lost Lake and a current member of Annunciation Parish in Fox Lake. For a number of years, he ran Butch’s Hide-Away in Lost Lake. He enjoyed shaking dice and playing cards. His fondest memories were of his vacations that he and Eva Mae would take to Hawaii.

Survivors are his two children, Gary (Sue) Neuman of Beaver Dam and Terry (Mary) Neuman of Randolph; ten grandchildren, Andrea (Mark), Adam, Jeremy (Katie), Nick (Vicki), Shaun (Allison), Chris, Ben, John (Saraid), Mike, and Kathryn; 12 great grandchildren; two sisters, Clara Belle Kennedy of Columbus and Marlene (Wally) Christian of Reeseville; a special niece, Judy Robbins of Fall River; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife in 1997; three children, David, Mary, and Sherri; three brothers, Virgil, Robert, and Curtis; and one sister, Madeline Schultz

If desired, memorials may be made in Arden Neuman’s name to Columbus Community Hospital or to Meadows of Fall River Assisted Living Center.
