Cassandra Schmidt, Financial Representative with Modern Woodmen of America wanted to do something for the people transitioning from the homeless shelters to their own place. Many of the people that use the shelters come in with nothing. Cassandra came up with making kits for them when they are transitioning from the shelter to their own place. The kit comes in a tote and contains a pan for cooking, 2 plates, 2 bowls, silverware, 2 cups, dish rag, towel, can opener and other donated items. There are also a few totes that were made for larger families.  With the help of volunteers, donations and service project money from Modern Woodmen she was able to put together a total of 30 totes!

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this project for the New Beginnings Homeless Shelter a success! If you would like to learn more don’t hesitate to reach out to Cassandra Schmidt at 920-296-4395 or email Cassandra.L.Schmidt@mwarep.org
