Carol A. (Kumba) Laue of Beaver Dam, WI died on Monday, October 2, 2017 at Prairie Ridge Assisted Living.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Katharine Drexel Parish in Beaver Dam on Friday, October 6, 2017 at 12:00 noon with Fr. Mike Erwin presiding.  A visitation will be held at church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:50 a.m.  Burial will take place at St. Peter Cemetery in Beaver Dam.  Following this there will be a celebration of Carol’s life at St. Katharine Drexel’s Mission Hall.

Carol was born on December 17, 1929 to Joseph and Helen (Kerwitzer) Kumba in Beaver Dam, WI.  She graduated in 1947 from Beaver Dam High School.  On June 28, 1952, Carol was united in marriage to Kenneth “Mike” Laue at St. Peter’s Catholic Church.

Carol had been a life-long member of St. Peter’s/St. Katharine Drexel Parish.  She also was a member of the Daughters of Isabella and the Beaver Dam Homemakers Group.

Carol’s generous spirit showed brightly through all the volunteer work she did over the many years of her life.  She really enjoyed helping others in any way she could. (whether it was donating blood, serving at church, the school, or the hospital) She worked many years at the St. Vincent De Paul store and loved the job because she knew she was assisting those in need.

She loved connecting with new and old friends, listening and sharing stories, and showed a genuine kindness to all.

She was a life-long sports fan and watched all sports including the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers, and Wisconsin Badgers.  But she especially enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren play sports; alwaysthere in the stands or sidelines cheering them on loudly.

Carol took pleasure in going to band concerts, musicals, and plays in the community.  Also enjoyed bowling, playing cards, gardening, and traveling with family and friends.  Yet her greatest passion was her husband Kenneth, her seven children, twelve grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.  She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and will be dearly missed!

She is survived by her children, Mike (Bonnie) Laue of Juneau, Deborah (Thomas) Baughman of Centennial, CO, Christine (David) Ehrke of Milwaukee, Lisa Laue of Madison, Susan (Robert) Wickman of Spring Green, Pamela (John) Plesac of Verona, and Paul Laue (Tania Ibarra) of Sun Prairie; her sister, Mary (Joe) Skupniewitzof Verona; her sister-in-law, Dorothy (Smith) Kumba; her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other relatives and friends.

Carol was greeted in heaven with open arms by her parents; her husband, Kenneth; and her brothers, Philip Kumba and Brother James Kumba, C.S.C.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to St. Katharine Drexel School, the American Cancer Society, or a charity of one’s choice.
