Obituary: Anthony “Tony” Westra

Anthony “Tony” Westra, 70, of Randolph passed away peacefully on Friday, October 27, 2017 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison with his family by his side.

A visitation for Tony will be held at the Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home, N7199 N. Crystal Lake Road, Beaver Dam on Thursday, November 2, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at noon at the funeral home. A memorial service for Tony will begin at noon with the Rev. Stephen Robbins officiating.

Anthony was born on the family farm on October 27, 1947 to Andrew and Effie (Fisher) Westra Sr.   He was a 1965 graduate of Central Wisconsin Christian High School.  On April 19, 1968, he was married to Betty L. Vander Galien at the Second Randolph Christian Reformed Church.  Tony was a lifelong farmer in the town of Randolph.  He had a great love for the outdoors and belonged to numerous outdoor wildlife groups.  He enjoyed deer and turkey hunting.  Tony was also a great steward of the land and planted many many trees throughout his lifetime.

Tony will be deeply missed by his children: Brian (Susan) Westra of Randolph, Jeremy (Becky) Westra and their children Maggie and Mason of Randolph and Angela Westra of Belmont, MA.; the mother of his children Betty of Randolph; his siblings: Pete (Doris) Westra of Beaver Dam, Syros (Jan) Westra of CA, Marilyn (John) Smits of Waupun and Evelyn (Howard) Minnema of Waupun; his sister-in-law Mary Greenfield of Waupun, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Andrew Westra Jr.

In lieu of flowers memorials in Tony’s name may be directed to the Randolph Christian School.
