Obituary: Esther E. Werth

Esther E. Werth, age 97, of Beaver Dam, died on Friday, October 27, 2017 at Hillside Manor in Beaver Dam.

Visitation for Esther will be at St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam on Friday, November 3, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.  Funeral services will follow at church on Friday at 12:00 noon with Rev. Paul Stratman officiating.  A luncheon will immediately follow the service with burial at Randolph Cemetery after lunch.

Esther was born on August 12, 1920 in the Town of Ashippun, Dodge County, Wisconsin, the daughter of the late Frank and Ella (Hemling) Grulke.  She was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Ashippun.  On May 4, 1940, Esther was united in marriage with Marcus E. Werth at St. John’s Lutheran Church in the Town of Trenton, Dodge County, Wisconsin.  Esther was proud to be a wife and a mother.  She was a faithful member of St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam

Survivors include three children, Everett Werth (Kathleen Schreiber) of Fond du Lac, and Gerald (Jean) Werth of Rio Rancho, NM; a daughter, Alice Kranz (John Wood) of Beaver Dam; eight grandchildren, Alan (Kathy) Werth of New Berlin, Lyle (Kelli) Werth of Round Lake, IL, Gregory (Dawn) Werth of Madison, Jodi (Steve) Thomas of Conroe, TX, Bill (Courtney) Werth of McCordsville, IN, David Werth (Ynez Catanach) of Albuquerque, NM, David (Karlie) Kranzof Golden, CO, and Kelly Kranz (Jack Corr) of Beaver Dam; nine great grandchildren; twogreat great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Marietta Werth of League City, TX; brother, Herbert (Joyce) Grulke of Green Bay; nieces nephews other relatives and friends.  Esther was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Vernon; a sister, Millie Beier; a grandson, Stephen Werth; a son-in-law, David Kranz; and a daughter-in-law, Joanne Werth.

If desired, memorials may be made in Esther Werth’s name to St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam.
