Doris A. Becker, age 71, of Beaver Dam and formerly of Watertown, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at Rainbow Hospice Care in Johnson Creek.
The visitation will be at St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church on Saturday, December 9, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:50 a.m. The funeral service will follow at the church on Saturday at 12:00 noon with Rev. Philip Heyer officiating. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens in the Town of Trenton, Dodge County, Wisconsin.
The former Doris Ann Guenther was born on August 19, 1946 in the Town of Calamus, Dodge County, Wisconsin to Roy and Caroline (Kirchberg) Guenther. She was raised in Beaver Dam and was a 1964 graduate of Beaver Dam High School. Doris raised her children in Watertown and was heavily involved with their schools. She was the lunch lady at Trinity-St. Luke’s School and often worked concessions at the kid’s sporting events. Doris was also the custodian at the school for a number of years. She was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Watertown and became a member of St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam after she moved back two years ago. Doris loved to cook, bake, and sew. She worked for a number of years as the cook at Highland House in Waterloo and at the Marquardt Manor in Watertown. Her greatest joy was her family and she always looked forward to her visits with her grandsons.
Survivors are her children, Kevin (Lisa) Becker of Genoa City, and Annette (Nic) Stoffel of West Bend; grandsons, Brendan and Logan Becker and Liam and Caleb Stoffel; brothers and sister, Robert (Nancy) Guenther, Harry (Jane) Guenther and Darlene (Charlie) Welch, all of Beaver Dam; her former husband, Phillip Becker of Milton; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Joyce Marie; and a brother, Duane (Elaine) Guenther.
