Obituary: Alyce M. Jakel, age 76

Alyce M. Jakel, age 76, of Tomahawk, died peacefully at home on Thursday, December 21, 2017.

The visitation will be at the Reeseville Community Center on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:20 a.m. The funeral service will follow at the community center at 11:30 a.m. with Deacon Ed Cody officiating. Burial will be at Reeseville Cemetery.

Alyce M. Brueckner was born on May 14, 1941 in Milwaukee to Richard and Margaret (D’Amour) Brueckner. She was united in marriage to Paul Jakel, on January 2, 1960 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Clyman. She was a lifelong resident of Reeseville until her husband retired and sold the family business. After retirement they moved to Tomahawk, WI to their house on the lake and for a number of years traveled to their second home in Leesburg, FL for the winters. Alyce always enjoyed beading, crafts, and spending time with her family and friends. She was a wonderful baker and always shared with friends. She enjoyed many trips, and was an avid golfer. She was a long-time member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Reeseville.

Alyce will be missed by her husband, Paul “Butch” of Tomahawk; children, David (Audrey) Jakel of Columbus, and Joseph (Kathryn) Jakel of Reeseville; grandchildren, Holly (Andy) Schuster, Brianna (fiancé, Ryan) Jakel, and Mary Zietlow; great grandchildren, Lillian and Alana; sisters and brother, Linda (Mike) Pezzi, Gail Cotter, and Tom Brueckner; sister-in-law, Patricia Brueckner; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. She joins in her eternal life, her parents; daughter, Jill Jakel; grandson, Jesse Jakel; brothers, Richard and Steve; and brother-in-law, Garry Cotter.
