Obituary: Lyle G. Vierck, age 84

Lyle G. Vierck, 84, of Beaver Dam and formerly of Harvard, Il passed away peacefully on Monday, January 8, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family.

A visitation for Lyle will be held on Sunday, January 14th from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home, N7199 N. Crystal Lake Road, Beaver Dam. A funeral will follow at 3:00 p.m. with Chaplin Carrie Slager officiating following the service military honors will be conducted by the Beaver Dam American Legion Post 146 at the funeral home.  Interment will be at Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Harvard, IL.

Lyle Gene was born on May 25, 1933 the son of Clifford and Dorothy (Wright) Vierck in Alden, IL.  He was a graduate of Harvard High School.  On Jan. 23, 1954, he was united in marriage to Ruth Harrison at the Greenwood Methodist Church in Greenwood, IL.

Lyle proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War.  He had farmed in Harvard, IL until 1974 when he moved to the Juneau area where he continued farming.  Lyle had been a member of the Harvard Methodist Church and had belonged to the Harvard Moose Lodge.  Lyle enjoyed bowling, gardening and playing cards.

Lyle is survived by his wife of 64 years Ruth and two sons: Craig (Donna) Vierck and Steven (Dawn) Vierck both of Juneau, his daughter-in-law Lori (Norio) Miyazato of Beaver Dam; seven grandchildren: Jeremy (Heather) Vierck, Nicole (Brett) Wiersman, Ben (girlfriend Connie Stommel) Vierck, Henry (Katherine) Vierck, Brian (Ashley) Vierck, Christopher (fiancée Brooke) Vierck and Kelly Vierck; seven great grandchildren, cousins, other relatives and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents Clifford and Dorothy Vierck, his son Terry in 1994 and his mother and father-in-law Agnes and Henry Harrison.
