Obituary: Betty L. Singer, age 71

Betty L. Singer, age 71, of Beaver Dam, passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Hillside Manor after a long battle with cancer.

The memorial gathering will be at Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home on Saturday, January 20, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon. The memorial service will follow at the funeral home on Saturday at 12:00 noon with Rev. Terry Larson officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date at Riverside Cemetery in Fox Lake.

Betty L. Singer was born on April 1, 1946 to Jack and Norma (Oathout) Singer-Buss in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. She grew up in Fox Lake, attending school in Fox Lake and Waupun, graduating from Waupun High School in 1964.

After graduating high school, Betty moved to Madison where she worked at Research Products for several years. She then moved back to Beaver Dam and worked at John Deere, retiring in 2002 after 35 years of clerical work. After retirement, Betty kept herself very busy. She worked part time at Heine’s Pizza, where she was known for her great old fashioned. She also ran the gift shop at Seippel Center in Beaver Dam

Betty was very artsy. She made beautiful jewelry and loved to knit and sew. Betty loved volunteering and helping other. She loved the outdoors, gardening and flowers, going up north and spending time with family and friends. Betty’s other two loves were traveling and shopping. Among her travels, Ireland and New York were her favorites. She was a member of First Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam.

Survivors are her sisters, Rosemarie Wolfe (Jerry Wolfe of Crivitz) of Horicon and Carol Buss (Harvey) of Horicon; nieces, Renee (Dave) Rindt of Horicon and Rochelle (Bradley) Oseth of Kaukauna; great niece, Morgan Rindt (Daniel Stivaletta) of Kaukauna; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents; mother, Norma in 2016, and a special Uncle Roy Oathout in 2011.

A special thanks to the caregivers at the Eagles Wings, Hillside Manor, and Hillside Hospice for their excellent care and support.

Memorial donations can be made to Hillside Homecare / Hospice or to First Ev. Lutheran Church, in Beaver Dam.
