What started in a local credit union as a silent auction of Christmas Trees and decorations, raising just a few hundred dollars for Church Health Services, Inc. (CHS) has become a prime annual event. Completing its 15th year with a dinner held at Old Hickory Country Club that included silent and live auctions, 50/50 raffle and sponsorships from local businesses. The Festival of Trees Committee was very pleased with the November event and they were happy to present a donation of $14,325.00 to CHS, a United Way agency, to help fund their dental and mental health care programs for adults and children and primary health care programs for adults who are of low income, underinsured or uninsured.
The Committee has already begun working on next year’s event which is scheduled for November 24, 2018 at Old Hickory.
Pictured presenting the donation were Co-Chairs Kris Kohlhoff and Jim Dais, along with Committee Members Kathy Swenson, Mary Vogl-Rauscher, Pat Ninmann and Justine Koehoorn. Accepting the check on behalf of Church Health Services was Bev Beal-Loeck. Committee Members not pictured include Denise Fitzsimmons, Lester Jacobson, Barb Peterson and Betsy Zuehlke.
