2017 US Open-traffic in Dodge County

The 2017 US Open (golf) begins Monday, June 12 and runs through Sunday, June 18. The event is being hosted at Erin Hills, which is located less than a mile from the Township of Ashippun/Dodge County line.  This event will affect traffic flows in Dodge County during the event as 20-40,000 or more fans and workers gather daily at the event.

Beginning Monday, from 5am through 9pm, each day of the event, traffic on County Highway O near the event will be closed to all traffic which does not have a pass to access the area.  As a result, traffic will be detoured north on County Highway P to State Highway 60, east to the City of Hartford, then south on State Highway 83 and vice versa.

Traffic will be highly controlled in the area by the Wisconsin State Patrol. The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office will have extra deputies assigned to the area in anticipation of the extra traffic and expected number of visitors to the area.

Please be patient and cautious if travelling in the area during the event, and avoiding the area unless necessary may be beneficial to travel times both for those passing through and those going to the event.

Additional information can be obtained by contacting Sheriff Dale J Schmidt.
