Beaver Dam Area Community Theater’s Spring show will be “Always a Bridesmaid” by Jones, Hope, and Wooten.  Dates for the show will be March 18-26 at the Community Theater on North Spring Street.

A hysterical comedy, the cast will consist of 6 women:

KARI AMES-BISSETTE, late 20’s, a kind-hearted spirited Southern charmer

LIBBY RUTH AMES, late 40’s, hopeless romantic, sweet country woman

SEDALIA ELLICOTT, 50/60’s, a gregarious, energetic, Virginia hostess and life-force

MONTTE GENTRY, late 40’s, flashy and trashy, Southern-to-the-bone flirt

CHARLIE COLLINS, late 40’s, tree-hugging, Birkenstock-wearing Southern free spirit

DEEDRA WINGATE, late 40’s, headstrong with dry wit, no-nonsense Northern transplant

Set in an old-fashioned southern town, the play takes place over a period of years beginning with a promise made on the night of their Senior Prom to be in each other’s weddings, no matter what. Over the years, these friends-for-life are still making the “long walk” for each other. It’s a tale of 4 loyal and determined women who definitely answer the question, “Just how far are you willing to go to keep a promise to a friend?” The journey of these beleaguered bridesmaids navigates the choppy waters of love and matrimony, and are committed to the notion that careers, waistlines and even marriages may disappear, but real friendship lasts a lifetime.

Auditions are set for January 15, 16 & 17 at the Theatre building located at 219 N. Spring St., 6:30-8:00 pm. A play script will be available at the Beaver Dam Community Library on January 2nd.
