The Beaver Dam Noon Kiwanis Club is gearing up again for the Salvation Army bell ringing campaign in the Beaver Dam area. Bell ringers will be at the same retail locations as in previous years, and counter kettles are placed at about three dozen area businesses. The campaign begins Wednesday, November 22 and ends Saturday, December 23.  255 bell ringers are needed for the campaign this year.

The Kiwanis Club solicits and schedules the volunteers, collects and counts money, provides publicity for the campaign, distributes kettles and counter kettles, and helps Joanne Tyjeski organize a Red Kettle Christmas concert, scheduled this year for 4PM December 3 at Beaver Dam High School. The club also coordinates many other details necessary for a successful campaign.

The Kiwanis Club is again seeking volunteer ringers for the campaign. Organizations and businesses are encouraged to “adopt a day” and staff ringers at one of the locations, which usually runs from 8AM to 6PM.   Individual volunteers are important to fill timeslots not covered by organizations. The support of community volunteers is essential in filling the bell ringing schedule.

Volunteers may sign up for shifts by phoning either Rhonda Steiner at 920-885-5813 or 920-344-2837, or Jack Hankes at 920-344-2462.  Individuals can also sign up through the VolunteerDodge.net website, where a live campaign schedule is available.
