VOLKSFEST – Waupun

Waupun is proud to present the 22nd Annual Volksfest which will bring the tradition and tastes of Munich to Wisconsin on September 11th and 12th.  The event will be held at Tanner Park which is located across the street from Waupun’s Community Center on Spring Street. Volksfest is free to get in and open to all ages.  The Waupun Volksfest  features traditional German food, beer, as well as many fun activities, and live music from some of Wisconsin’s best polka bands.

At 4:30 p.m., buergermeister (mayor) Kyle Clark will be present for the official tapping of the keg. Friday music entertainment features Carol and the Keynotes, Tuba Dan, Good Time Dutchmen and Music Connection. Saturday starts out with a pancake breakfast served by the Kiwanis from 7:00-10:00 a.m. Next get on your running shoes on for the Wild Goose Chase which starts at 8:30 a.m. with a 10K at 9 a.m. and 5K at 10 a.m. and a kids fun run at 10:30 a.m. At 9:00 a.m. be sure to see the Warrior Blaskapelle (highschool polka band). From 9:30-11:30 a.m. enjoy the Volkswalk. More music can be heard starting at 10:00 a.m. with entertainment by the Sugar Bush Boys. Music and more entertainment continues through the day with The Leon Olsen Show, Jerry Schneider Band and Gary’s Ridgeland Dutchmen. There is also a stumpf fiddle contest at 4:00 p.m.
