Publisher’s Note: This Feature originally appeared in our November / December 2016 edition. These guys were very accommodating to our fledgling endeavors. It was intimidating but loads of fun.

This interview was conducted between performances on Friday October 14th, 2016 at the Schauer Art Center in Hartford, Wisconsin.

A Special Thank You to Matt Fox – Publicist for Riders in the Sky and Roxanne Daly Marketing Director for the Schauer Art Center for making the introductions that made this interview possible. And of course to the Riders for taking time from their busy schedule to spend some time with us! The Riders are perfect gentlemen – we had a great time – they made us feel pretty important!

Most of you will be familiar with Riders in the Sky – as they have been doing this for just about four decades – “Bringing GOOD BEEF to Hungry People” – those of you who are not familiar are in for a real treat … We hope you enjoy this as much as we did.

Hats off to: “Governor of the Great State of Rhythm” – Ranger Doug

Upright “Bunkhouse” Bassist – Too Slim

“King of the Cowboy Fiddlers” – Woody Paul

“Cow Polka King” – Joey
