Free Fishing Weekend
Winter Free Fishing Weekend - January 18-29, 2014. Bundle up and get out there for Wisconsin's 2nd Annual Winter Free Fishing Weekend.
These events provide great opportunities for people of all ages to give fishing a try. Call up a friend and plan an adventure!
Fish anywhere in Wisconsin without a license or trout stamp on Free Fishing Weekend. This includes all inland waters and Wisconsin's side of the Great Lakes and Mississippi River. Other fishing rules apply, such as limits on the number and size of fish you can keep and any seasons when you must release certain fish species. So, pack up the family or call your friends and head to the water for fishing fun! If you're new to fishing and Free Fishing Weekend convinces you you'd like to make it a habit, try our "First-time buyer" resident license for only $5. Discounts for non-residents too! Find more information on purchasing a fishing license and you'll be ready to fish for the rest of the year! Need fishing gear? No fishing pole or other fishing equipment? No worries! Contact a Tackle Loaner site at one of several state parks and DNR regional offices to borrow one. Many have ice fishing jig poles, too.
