Curious about the public Charter School in Fox Lake? Have a child entering grades K-8? Wonder how project-based learning works and what is done to interweave reading, writing, math, social studies, science, agriculture, and the arts into projects? If so, make plans to attend the School for AGricultural & Environmental Studies’ (SAGES’) Community Open House on Saturday, March 5. This annual event features school tours, student project presentations, educational displays, and interactive learning for all, plus light food items to enjoy!

Visitors can journey among SAGES’ hallways on a Guided School Tour featuring class/student projects, as well as stops by the various learning spaces from classrooms and computer lab to the collaboration and community rooms, plus outdoor learning labs like the chicken coop and garden. Guided Tours are student-led and occur throughout the event. Stop by the front office to get started.

Beyond school tours, visitors of all ages can participate in hands-on learning activities like counting worms that compost our lunch scraps, hearing from famous “people” at the SAGES’ Wax Museum, exploring an indoor Barn Quilt Trail, and trying out technology. SAGES’ Governance Board Members, as well as SAGES Foundation and Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) members will also be on hand to greet guests, share current efforts, and answer questions.

This special event hosted at the School for AGricultural & Environmental Studies (SAGES) at 200 South Depot Street, Fox Lake, Wisconsin, runs from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm on March 5th and is open to everyone – community members, parents with children considering enrollment, prospective partners, local agriculturists and environmentalists, or anyone with a passion and interest in education who wishes to volunteer their time, talent, or support at SAGES.

A part of the Waupun Area School District, SAGES is a project-based, public school with more than 130 students in grades K-8. Open Enrollment is happening now through April 29. To learn more about SAGES or for a complete Open House schedule, visit www.waupun.k12.wi.us/sages.
