On September 27, 2013, God chose to lift the sweet, kind soul of John J. Czajka to join him in Heaven.  John was ready for this event having lived 89 years, all of them on the Czajka Family Farm. He was born on the farm June 4, 1924, the sixth of eight children to Polish immigrants Joseph and Mary (Zmslony) Czajka.

He attended and graduated from Beaver Dam High School, participating in FFA and 4H groups. John’s passion was the land, and he farmed his entire life. He loved tractors of all kinds, especially enjoying the antiques. John enjoyed the simple things in life like going to the movies, bowling with his brother Eddie, attending state and county fairs, watching NASCAR, and visiting with neighbors.  Not to be forgotten would be John’s attendance at local auctions seeking out that one great find. He also enjoyed driving truck for the canning companies hauling peas or corn or whatever they needed as long as he got to drive his truck.

John will be missed dearly by his sisters, Mary Czajka and Wanda Ferron of Beaver Dam and Harriet Weirichs of Appleton and by the many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and neighbors that loved to visit him. Family members having gone to Heaven before John include his siblings, Lucile Hoch, Josephine Czajka, Edmund Czajka, and Stella Machkovech.

The family would like to thank the Dodge County Sheriff’s Department, the Beaver Dam EMTs, Dr. Zhang, and Dr. LuyTan. They would also like to thank the above mentioned nieces and nephews for all their help, and the families of James Ferron and John Hoch.

A Mass of Christian Burial for John will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Katharine Drexel Parish, 511 S. Spring St. in Beaver Dam with Fr. John Radetski as Celebrant.  A luncheon will immediately follow the Mass at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc, 135 Keller Blvd. in Beaver Dam.

Visitation for John will be on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 from 5-7 p.m. at Cornerstone and also on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. at the Church.

Memorials can be made to the Franciscan Friars P.O. Box 100 Pulaski, WI 54162, Saint Katharine Drexel School, or the Beaver Dam Waterworks Park Project.
