Darlene M. Kurtz, age 66, died Sunday, February 9, 2014 at her home in Burnett.

Visitation for Darlene will be at St. Stephen Evangelical Lutheran Church in Horicon on Saturday, February 15, 2014 from 10:00 am until 11:50 am. The funeral service will follow at the church on Saturday at 12:00 Noon with Rev. Daniel Seehafer and Rev. Jonathan Szczesney officiating. Burial will be at Stone Cemetery in the Town of Burnett, Dodge County, Wisconsin.

Darlene was born on January 8, 1948 in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, the daughter of Joseph and Berdell (Vossquil) Hallmeyer.  She graduated from Horicon High School in 1967.  On February 8, 1969, Darlene was united in marriage with Robert Kurtz at St. Stephen Evangelical Lutheran Church in Horicon.  She worked at various jobs until she was hired at John Deere Horicon Works, from which she retired with 30 years of service in 2003.  Darlene was a member of St. Stephen Evangelical Lutheran Church where she served on the finance committee and the altar guild.  She was also a member of the Horicon American Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Robert; a son, Keven (Darlene) Kurtz of Horicon; a daughter, Carrie (Brad) Lagerman of Iron Rodge; four grandchildren, Ally Kurtz, Mitchell Kurtz, Emily Lagerman, Blake Lagerman; four step children, John (Patrica) Kurtz of Alaska, Bryan Kurtz and Sondra Kurtz, both of Tomah, and Cindy (Brian) Menard of Camp Douglas; several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; her twin sister, Marlene (Gene) Renner of Kingston; her sister, Arlene Selshert of Horicon; her brother, Francis Hallmeyer; sisters-in-law, Dorthea Kurtz of Milwaukee, and Carol Kurtz of West Bend; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  Darlene was preceded in death by her parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Richard and Adeline Kurtz; brothers-in-law, Richard and Harold Kurtz; and a sister-in-law, Leora Drews.

If desired, memorials may be made to St. Stephen Evangelical Lutheran Church in Horicon or to St. Agnes Hospice Hope in Fond du Lac.
