Obituary: Raymond F. Pieper

Raymond F. Pieper, age 99, of Beaver Dam, passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2014.

Visitation will be at Trinity Church United Methodist in Beaver Dam on Friday, March 14, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. The funeral service will follow at the church at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Jeff Nicholas officiating. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens in the Town of Trenton, Wisconsin, with military honors provided by the John E. Miller, American Legion Post #146.

Raymond was born on September 25, 1914 in the Town of Leroy, in Dodge County, the son of Fred and Martha (Luebke) Pieper. On August 16, 1941 he was united in marriage to Beatrice Pritchard at Trinity Church United in Methodist in Beaver Dam.

Raymond served during WWII in the United States Army. He was part of the 543rd Harvester Battalion, serving in Central Europe from 1942 until 1946.

Raymond worked for the Dodge County Highway Department for 32 years, retiring in 1979.

Survivors include his children, Douglas (Patty) Pieper of Dalton, Yvonne Germaine-Richter (David) Richter of Green Lake; grandchildren, Nathan Pieper, Michael (Mindy) Pieper, Justine (Mike) Kessler, Kate (Kevin) Laurent; great grandchildren, Charlie, Henry, Faye Laurent, and Natalie Kessler; one brother, Gilbert Pieper; his companion, Maxine Chatterson of Beaver Dam, and her family; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 

Raymond was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice in 1982; parents; son-in-law, Brian Germaine in 1992; brothers, Ervin, Arthur and Harvey Pieper; sisters, Norma Johnson, Erna Shepard, Verona Krueger and Evelyn Kiesow.
