Emily McKnight wins Bertha Proctor Award

Beaver Dam High School Senior Emily McKnight recently won the Bertha Proctor Award presented by Allen Proctor and the Beaver Dam Area Arts Association. The Bertha Proctor Award is a purchase award for $500 and is awarded to a high school artists who has created a work in any medium that illustrates nature, garden or floral themes. Allen Proctor from Ohio is Bertha’s son who presents the award each year to the winner. 

There are now a total of 6 pieces rotating in the region for the public to view. Emily McKnight’s pencil drawing “Butterflies” is on display during BDAAA’s Annual Area High School Art Exhibit, sponsored by Daily Citizen and Best Way Driving School, until April 13th. Emily is involved in BDAAA’s creative writing group, has assisted with Youth Art and summer art camps at The Seippel Arts Center.
