Obituary: Helen B. Heiling

Helen B. Heiling, 98, formerly of Clyman passed away on Friday, April 4, 2014 at Golden Living Center, Beaver Dam, Wisconsin.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Clyman at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 7, 2014, with the Reverend Father Richard Wendell officiating.  A visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 10:50 a.m.

Helen B. Leistico was born in the Township of Lowell on April 18, 1915, the daughter of John and Ada (Schoenwetter) Leistico.  Helen married Francis “Frank” Heiling on September 20, 1934. Together they farmed in the Town of Clyman for many years. She also was employed by Aunt Nellie’s Canning Company in Clyman. Helen was a longtime member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and was active in the Altar Society. She enjoyed gardening and flowers, quilting, helping others and especially taking her grandchildren fishing.

Her grandchildren will treasure her warm quilts, the bowls of popcorn, and her sense of humor.

Survivors include her children- Joanne (Paul) Buege of Oconomowoc, Dennis (Alice) Heiling of Clyman, Mary (Matt) Kolb of Juneau, Marlene (Nick) Krezinski of Beaver Dam, and Barbara Myers of Beaver Dam; her sister- Alice Daniels of Juneau; 18 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren, 4 step-great grandchildren; 2 sisters-in-law- Doris Leistico and Loraine Leistico.

She was preceded in death by- her parents, her husband Frank in 1972, 1 son James in 1989, 2 sisters- Marjorie Harte and Edith Soldner, 3 brothers- John, Robert & William Leistico, 3 grandchildren in infancy, and 1 son-in-law Charles Myers.

The family would like to thank the caregivers at Golden Living Center and Generations Hospice Care for the comfort they gave our mom.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in mom’s name to the Alzheimer’s Unit and Activity Fund at Golden Living Center in Beaver Dam.
